Blue Mountain Vineyard and Cellars is a beautiful winery in BC’s South Okanagan that produces equally delightful wines. (Do visit them if you have a chance).  We at Vancouver Food Tour especially love their delicate Brut that we often serve to compliment our local cheese and charcuterie tastings.

Great news!  Blue Mountain is extending invitations for you to taste their award winning wines.  Whether you’re new to, or are a lover of BC wines, don’t miss these two complimentary tastings happening in June.

About Blue Mountain Vineyard and Cellars: Located in BC’s South Okanagan, Blue Mountain Vineyard and Cellars is distinctive among Canadian wineries in that all its wines are produced exclusively from grapes grown on the estate’s vineyards.  Ian Mavety purchased the land which is now Blue Mountain Vineyard in 1971.  Current owners Ian, Jane, Matt, and Christie Mavety continue to work to realize the potential of the region, utilizing sustainable farming methods and winemaking practices.  Blue Mountain produces complex, age-worthy varietal wines that are consistent in style while allowing the expression of both the terroir and the individual growing season.

About Matt Mavety; Matt Mavety started working part-time in the vineyard at the age of 14.  After graduating from high school he pursued a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture at UBC, majoring in Agricultural Economics.  He subsequently studied viticulture and oenology in New Zealand before returning home to join the family business full-time.
