Last week, Vancouver Food Tour was invited to the VIP Launch for TASTE Resto-Lounge at FIVESIXTY, a new gem located at 560 Seymour Street in downtown Vancouver.
Executive Chef Renaldo Decembrini created the menu of authentic share-plates and charcuterie with a focus on sustainable, locally sourced and organic product. With the intention of experiencing food and drink as one, cocktail and wine lists are expertly paired with menu items to create a multi-sensory experience for guests.

Sunken bar featuring ceiling high wine/liquor display and red glass chandeliers
The resto-lounge itself is a large narrow space highlighted by a long sunken bar with striking red glass chandeliers, a 20 person marble communal table and an open kitchen. The walls are adorned with rotating artwork from local artists.
The charcuterie platter served at the launch event was filled with a delicious mixture of sausages, artisanal cheeses, capicollo, prosciutto and pickled beets. Of the wine and cocktails offerings that evening, my favorite would have to be the Seadog – a concoction similar to a margarita in taste with its tequila base but with the unique additions of house made orgeat syrup, islay scotch wash, caraway and salt water.

TASTE Resto-Lounge officially opened their doors to the public on September 21, 2012. Congratulations on the opening and continued success! Our experience there was memorable and we will definitely be back!
