It’s no secret that Vancouver is filled with talented chefs. However, it’s not everyday that I meet one that is equally talented, genuine, humble, and kind. That’s how I would describe chef Owen Lightly of Butter on the Endive. (Check out a blog post I wrote about a dinner that he hosted last year).
Owen has been diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. While Vancouver’s culinary scene is shocked by the news, our emotions are surpassed by our senses of hope and support. Food Fight is a fundraiser for fellow industry peer and friend, Owen Lightly, who was recently diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. He and his partner, Naomi Horii, are facing the most strenuous and difficult battle of their lives. Owen will begin aggressive chemotherapy at the end of April and will be facing surgery as well. Owen has incredible strength and determination to beat this but will need the help of friends like you.
Come together for an evening of food and friends featuring canapes from local chefs, music, silent auction and more. 100% of the ticket sales and proceeds of this fundraising event will go directly to Owen. Please consider making a donation if you are unable to attend, or adding a donation on top of your tickets. Every little bit helps.
