Carlos is a Portuguese Canadian with a love for travel and culinary adventures. With over 15 years of experience working in Vancouver’s finest establishments, Carlos is an educated wine professional and consummate home chef.
Carlos has enjoyed gourmet fare across the globe; Prague, New York, New Orleans and San Francisco, but is most enthusiastic to showcase the best of Vancouver.
An ambassador for a sustainable society, Carlos promotes eating (and drinking) locally. He shares his passion for local BC wines through Dobre Vino Wine Club by offering monthly wine tastings. He has also published two calendars with recipes focusing on seasonal and regional ingredients.
David Pearson – Culinary & Craft Beer Tour Guide
With over ten years experience working in hospitality and tourism across the globe, David’s transition to culinary tour guide was an organic process.
A native Vancouverite with an infectious personality, David loves to showcase all that makes Vancouver such an amazing city to live in and visit. In a city with extensive multicultural flare, local knowledge is key and seeking a delicious meal is an endless adventure.
David is heavily involved in the Vancouver craft beer scene as a Certified Cicerone (beer sommelier) and in his day job at an award winning local brewery and distillery. He also holds Level II certification from the Wine and Spirits Education Trust (WSET) based in London, England.
As an amateur brewer and foodie, David is currently working on a cookbook that combines his love of brewing and cooking. Marrying great food, inspired drinks and fine company is his philosophy to a full life.
Cassandra – Culinary Tour Guide/VFT Publicity and Social Media Manager
Cassandra Anderton is a food, wine and travel writer and broadcaster, and publisher of goodlifevancouver.com. She loves to share insider tips about the awesome city she lives in and is full of restaurant and activity suggestions in and around the city.
Cassandra was born in New Zealand, grew up in the Okanagan, and has made Vancouver her home for the past 25 years.
She is passionate about local food and wine, and loves to travel to learn and report on what others are doing to promote their local culture.
Alexandra – Culinary Tour Guide
Alex is the granddaughter of a German baker and grew up with the best and authentic flavors for bread, pastries and cookies. Since her parents owned a farm, she is used to eating fresh fruits and vegetables every day. Alex lived in Europe most of her life and moved to Vancouver 7 years ago and calls this place her home.
From her grandmother she learned the art of baking and later on combining her knowledge with exploring other recipes, she started creating her own recipes. She is interested in nutrition and how to heal the body by eating vitamins and minerals. At the moment she likes to create raw and delicious recipes to impress her guests with new flavors and colours.
Dustin – Culinary Tour Guide
Dustin is a 4th year student at UBC doing a double major in Computer Science and Psychology. Dustin’s love of food started at an early age by growing up in a European household. “My mother was always entertaining with amazing food and pairing with amazing wines”. Dustin’s background in science is what got him fascinated with craft beer. “The science behind brewing is what got me exploring different types of beer and all their complexities”.
Dustin’s love for facts and honed research skills make for an insightful and passionate tour. “I’m looking forward to showing you the town I am so fortunate to call home, while taking your pallet on a tour of some of the best food and craft beer the world has to offer”.
Caitlin – Culinary Tour Guide
Caitlin is an American that now calls Vancouver her home. She is anavid traveler and loves to explore the city by eating her way through it. She is especially on the lookout for restaurants that feature local produce and products.
Caitlin is currently a student at Northwest Culinary Academy pursuing a professional degree in both pastry and culinary arts. She is not only passionate about food, but is also a lover of craft beer and wine. She is constantly on the search for new breweries and cooking up the perfect meal and even dessert to pair with the new beers she finds.
Christina- Culinary Tour Guide
In the hospitality and tourism industry for over 15 years as a Flight Attendant/Instructor, this seasoned traveler brings her extensive and versatile experience to all her guests. Christina is a globetrotter who looks forward to sharing all of her experiences travelling the world. Passionate about traveling and learning, she is constantly searching for the latest and greatest trends in this ever-changing industry.
Christina is proud Vancouverite, born and raised. She is ready to wine, dine and introduce you to Vancouver’s unique and trend setting food scene. A self-proclaimed local expert, she is available to guide you on all the “hidden treasures” this beautiful city has to offer!
Dominique – Culinary Tour Guide
Dominique is a chef working locally in Vancouver. After graduating from Northwest Culinary Academy, she has been cooking at numerous restaurants in the city, as well as catering private events. Recently, she worked for the Fairmont Chateau Whistler but her love for Vancouver drew her back to the city.
Dominique grew up in Dubai and was exposed to international cuisine at a young age. Since then, she constantly seeks out the best food in the cities she travels to and always has restaurant recommendations for Vancouver visitors. She is always eager to discuss new food trends and disclose her favorite places to eat around town.
Kendall – Culinary Tour Guide
Kendall was born in Vancouver and was instilled with a love for all things food from a young age. Her obsession finally lead her to pursue a Masters degree at The University of Gastronomic Sciences in Pollenzo, Italy. Fueled by artisan products, she travelled around Europe tasting, learning, and exploring.
Now her greatest joy comes from introducing others to new foods and the people that make them. So while she’s not guiding, Kendall imports artisan products and runs food education classes as the owner of The Modern Pantry.
